John And Anne Darwin Had Sons - Where Are Mark and Anthony Darwin Now As ITV Airs The Story?

The case of canoe fraud John Darwin and his wife Anne drew national attention to their home life.

Mark Darwin lives in Hertfordshire with his wife Flick and their children. There is, however, less information available concerning Anthony Darwin.

Anne lied about their father to his son. She lied to Mark and Anthony for five years while her husband lived next door in secret before moving to Panama City.

The story will be reimagined for a new four-part ITV1 drama slated to air in April.

It will surely raise a slew of concerns, not least about what happened to Mark and Anthony after the tragic tragedy, and whether they were ever reconciled with their parents.

Little is known about the sons who were delighted when they discovered their father was still alive.

However, when the story progressed and the deceit was discovered, they expressed their disappointment.

In 2008, both Mark and Anthony were present for Anne's trial at Teesside Crown Court.

At the hearing, they testified, expressing their hatred and betrayal to the courtroom.

John Darwin, a Hartlepool native, had been a teacher at Derwentside College for 18 years before joining Barclays. He then worked in HM Prison Holme House as a prison officer.

He had a business leasing bedsits across twelve County Durham homes with his wife Anne, a doctor's receptionist, but they went into debt in 2000 after buying two houses in Seaton Carew, County Durham.

A new drama about John and Anne Darwin will air later this month. met Darwin's former colleague Dave Smith, who said he spotted him when he was presumed dead.

John Darwin disappeared after canoeing off the coast of Seaton Carew in Cleveland on March 21, 2002.

John had faked his own demise to avoid bankruptcy, as he'd racked up £64,000 in bills. When questioned by authorities, Anne was complicit, spinning a web of deception.

For five years, she lied to their two sons, Mark and Anthony, while her husband was still in a bedsit next door.

John and Anne were both found guilty of fraud on July 23, 2008; John received an additional charge for his fake passports and was sentenced to six years and three months in prison.

Anne pled not guilty during her trial, claiming that she had been forced into the conspiracy by her husband, but the jury did not believe her and sentenced her to six years and six months in prison.

John Darwin is 71 years old. He was born on August 14, 195 in Hartlepool, County Durham, England.

Mercy Darwin, John's wife, was enraged because the ITV drama crew produced the program without John Darwin's approval.
