NYPD Officer: Who Is Wilbert Mora Wife - Was He Married?
Wilbert Mora was a married man. However, the identity of his wife has not been revealed to the public.
At Harlem Hospital, where Wilbert was brought after the shooting, his family was by his side. Later, he was moved to NYU Langone Medical Center.
It’s with great sadness I announce the passing of Police Officer Wilbert Mora.
— Commissioner Sewell
Wilbert is 3 times a hero. For choosing a life of service. For sacrificing his life to protect others. For giving life even in death through organ donation. Our heads are bowed & our hearts are heavy.
Keechant Sewell, the police commissioner, referred to him as "Three times a hero." Mora was assigned to the 32nd Precinct, which is based on the same street as the shooting.
Even though his health had been described as critical throughout, there were false reports on Friday night that Mora had died.
In a statement released Tuesday, New York Attorney General Letitia James stated, "Officer Mora and his partner, Officer Jason Rivera, displayed heroism in the face of immediate danger to safeguard New Yorkers."
Today, we mourn the loss of Police Officer Wilbert Mora. At 27-year-old, he was murdered in the line of duty — fighting until the very end. We vow to Wilbert and will always honor his legacy of service and ultimate sacrifice.

"Their bravery demonstrated their dedication to defending the city they loved. Both will be regarded as heroes who sacrificed their lives to make New York a safer and more powerful city. I pray for their families and loved ones' resilience and comfort."

The city's and police department's sadness was exacerbated when Mora's life support was switched off.
According to CBS2's Dave Carlin, the emotions are raw for his brothers and sisters in blue, as evidenced by a tweet from NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell.
Mora is regarded as a clever and humble young man by his family and friends. After earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice, he joined the NYPD as an officer in 2018.
This is our hero. Look at this smile. Look at his baby face. This isn’t fair. He didn’t deserve this 😔💙🖤🙏🏼

Friends of Mora staged a candlelight vigil in his honor outside the NYPD's 32nd Precinct on Monday night. In addition, Rivera was assigned to the 32nd Precinct, which is located on the same block as the incident, at 119 W. 135th Street, a quarter-mile away.
Rivera's body was taken from the hospital to the medical examiner's office later Friday evening, escorted by a large line of police vehicles. Officers flooded the streets to pay their respects to their fallen colleagues.
According to a friend, the father of deceased Harlem cop Jason Rivera is a "broken" guy who is still unable to grasp his son's death.
We struggle for words to express the tragedy, to endure the pain of losing Officer Jason Rivera as we pray for Officer Wilbert Mora. And while things feel unsure now, what I know we can count on is their fellow Finest continuing their courageous work and honoring Jason’s legacy.

Rivera's wake will be held on Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m., with his casket being laid at the foot of the altar in the historic Manhattan church.
According to the Police Department, the funeral will be followed by a private cremation ceremony at Ferncliff Cemetery in Westchester County. In addition, Authorities stated he would be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, Queens.
