In 2017, Peter Kay took a break from the spotlight, but he returned to it on Friday.

The comedian, 48, performed his inaugural Dance For Life event at Manchester Central Convention Complex, marking his first tour since wrapping the record-breaking The Tour That Doesn't Tour Tour...Now On Tour in late 2011.

In a new video, the celebrity can be seen addressing the fans while donning an 80s-inspired attire that includes a multicolored headpiece, a record-print jacket, and gold lurex joggers.

Since canceling a massive 14-month stand-up tour in 2017, the star has not performed a concert, claiming "unforeseen family circumstances." The proceeds from the tour will go to Cancer Research UK, and the event is dubbed "the dance-a-thon celebration that will change lives."

They feature Peter's singing and dancing, with additional concerts planned in London and Liverpool.

Meet Peter Kay Wife 

Susan Gargan is  Peter Kay's wife, whom he married in 2001.

They have three children together: a teenage son named Charlie Michael Kay and two smaller children who have been kept out of the spotlight by the couple.

Kay and Gargan have also collaborated before, and they are the co-directors of Goodnight Vienna Productions, which co-produces Kay's humor.

In addition to writing three novels, the Lancashire-born comedian has written, produced, and acted in a number of television and film productions. He earned a part-time job as a stand-up comedian after studying media performance at the University of Salford.

After a seven-year hiatus, Kay returned to standup in 2010 with The Tour That Didn't Tour Tour. It earned him more than £20 million after selling over 1.04 million tickets and 1.02 million DVDs.

Kay set the Guinness World Record for the most successful one-man standup comedian in February 2012. His 140-show tour drew a total of 1.2 million people.
