Who Are Bulgarian Actress Maria Bakalova Parents? Meet Rumyana Bakalova And Valcho Bakalov

Maria Bakalova was born in Burgas, Bulgaria, on June 4, 1996. Her parents are Rumyana Bakalova and Valcho Bakalov, and she is their only child.

She offered to help the directing duo with scheduling and other responsibilities, and she accompanied them to a film set where they were working so she could see and learn.

One of the filmmakers advised her to audition for a small part in their film The Father during her third year at the Academy.

Maria Bakalova made her cinematic debut in 2017 in the comedy-drama sequel XIIa, playing Milena. In Transgression the following year, she played Yana, a young girl with an odd relationship with an aging rocker.

Bakalova won the best actress at the AltFF Alternative Film Festival in Toronto in 2018 for her performance in the film.

For her appearance in Borat: The Subsequent Movie, Bakalova received a Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress. Maria is currently starring in the comedy film The Bubble as Anika.

She began performing at the age of 12 and attended the National School of Music and Stage Arts in Burgas, where she was a straight student, majoring in drama theater and minoring in flute.

As a student, Bakalova appeared in several theatre performances, including Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Kennedy's Children, and The Trial. In 2019, the Cast The Bubble received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
