Joni Mitchell Had Suffered From Rare Speech Illness Due To Brain Aneurysm

In a rare speech at the 2021 Kennedy Center Honors, Joni Mitchell addressed her ongoing health issues. Joni Mitchell, meanwhile, recently offered a rare video message in which she pondered on the 50th anniversary of her legendary album Blue.'

Mitchell's fourth studio album, released in 1971, is widely regarded as one of the best recordings of all time.

Mitchell turned to her official Twitter account to share a statement after releasing a new EP of demos and outtakes from the 'Blue' sessions.

In 1974's Court and Spark, which featured the radio songs "Help Me" and "Free Man in Paris" and became her best-selling album, Mitchell moved labels and began exploring more jazz-influenced melodic concepts via sumptuous pop textures.

Joni Mitchell, the late 1960s folk singer/songwriter, and legend is now 73 years old and rarely performs.

Mitchell has struggled with health challenges in recent years, including a stroke, post-polio health troubles, and Morgellons disease, an uncommon, contentious, and perplexing disorder.

Mitchell confesses in David Yaffe's new biography, "Reckless Daughter: A Portrait of Joni Mitchell," that she sometimes can't wear clothing because she feels like she's being "eaten alive."

Morgellons illness has mostly restricted her to her home. Morgellons disease is a dermopathy characterized by multicolored, fiber-like filaments beneath, under, or extending from the skin, as well as sores and crawling sensations.

Joni Mitchell, the singer-songwriter, had a brain aneurysm in 2015, rendering her momentarily unable to move or speak. She was claimed to be "making good improvements" later that year.

In a rare interview last year, she came up again about the event, stating, "I got my speech back quickly, but the walking I'm still suffering with."

After receiving a lifetime achievement award at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, the singer addressed her health difficulties during the 44th Kennedy Center Honors.

Mitchell stated that she would no longer travel or perform live, but she did make public appearances on occasion to speak about environmental problems.
