Rager was born on September 5, 1966, in Silver Spring, Maryland, near Washington, DC. Before deciding to pursue acting, she graduated from the University of Maryland.
In 1992, Jayne met her husband, Eduardo Valseca, in the parking lot of a Maryland supermarket, and instantly fell in love. The two settled near San Miguel de Allende after their marriage on July 9, 1994.
She worked on a book with Mark Ebner called "We Have Your Husband," to narrate the story of her husband's kidnapping, which was issued in 2011.
Jayne Rager also appeared to express her views and truth on the incident on NBC's Today show and ABC's "Dateline" news program. She's been a vital figure in the campaign to help the families and victims of Mexico's murderous cartel.

Jayne Valseca, passed away at 45, on 3 May 2012, in Potomac, Maryland. She died following a breast cancer complication.
Jayne Valseca, sadly, was also suffering from stage 4 cancer at the time of the accident. Her health, she believed, had deteriorated due to the stress of her husband's kidnapping.
