16 Year Old Kayla Green Stabbed To Death In Mount Vernon

Talking about the incident, 16-year-old Kayla Green was at the citywide celebration for the Mount Vernon boys basketball team's state championship when festivities turned fatal.

Many describe the sophomore JV cheer captain as "energetic, a sister, caring and nice to everyone." Green had plans to study nursing at Morgan State.

A walk for Kayla was also held at the Mount Vernon Boys and Girls Club on South 6th Avenue. Organizers encouraged students to attend the peaceful rally to condemn violence and the recent stabbing that killed the 16-year-old who injured her friend.

What Caused The Stabbing Of Kayla Green?

Kayla Green was held at the Mount Vernon Boys and Girls Club on South 6th Avenue where the incident led to her death. Meanwhile, Green's mother is taking to social media to tell the community about a memorial at 7 p.m. by Mount Vernon City Hall.

People are asked to wear pink or white as they release pink and white balloons in front of City Hall. Her best friend and fellow cheerleader survived the knife attack and continue to recover from multiple stab wounds and the toll the tragedy will take on her life.
