Bob Unkefer: Former Race Driver Dies At 68

Bob Unkefer, a long-time NHRA announcer, passed away recently at the age of 68 years old.

According to a Facebook post by Thunder Valley Raceway Park Noble, Oklahoma earlier today, he died after a long fight with cancer.

Even though he wasn't able to attend in March, Bob has been the voice of our Thunder in the Heartland event for 29 years, and we had a terrific time with him last October.

Those that had the chance to spend time with him, or even just sit in the stands and listen to him do what he loved on the mic, knew how important he was to the drag racing community.

He raised a good net worth from his professional career as an announcer and has left all his net worth to his family members and beloved ones.
