Norah Bruther Was Killed In A Fatal Car Accident
Norah Bruther died in a fatal car accident that took place at 1:30 a.m. near Camelback and Miller roads. Her cause of death is the injuries from the accident
She was hit in Scottsdale early Saturday morning by an Arizona State University football player, Stanley Lambert, 22. He is currently facing DUI charges.
Lambert is a redshirt senior defensive lineman from San Antonio, according to the Sun Devils' roster website. The incident was reported to Arizona State University, according to a spokeswoman.
"We are aware of the unfortunate circumstance over the weekend involving one of our student-athletes," Sun Devil Athletics said in a statement on Lambert's arrest."
"Our sympathies are with everyone involved's family and friends. We're still gathering information, and we don't have anything further to say right now."
Lambert was arrested and placed in the Scottsdale City Jail on one count of DUI with a BAC of .08% or above, according to police. During the inquiry, Lambert was freed.
Police say they're awaiting lab findings and that further charges might be filed.
Lambert has been in two major automobile accidents in the last year, but this is the first in which he was the driver.
During an accident involving two automobiles driven by members of the team following practice in late November, four ASU players did not go to the team's game at Oregon State last November.
Lambert, safety Willie Harts, and teammate defensive end Joe Moore, who was driving were in a car that crashed with tight ends Curtis Hodges and Jalin Conyers, according to 247sports.
