Nika Shanava, a Georgian mercenary, was killed at Izyum. In mid-March, Nika, 21, and his 19-year-old brother traveled to Ukraine to fight against the Russian army. This turned out to be their biggest blunder in their brief lives.
According to reports in Georgian media, Luka Shanava and his brother, Nika, came to Ukraine on March 16. "We came because we are concerned about our country's bright future."

With the deaths of Shanava and Luka, the number of Georgian volunteer fighters killed on Ukraine's side in recent weeks has risen to six. Gia Beriashvili, Davit Ratiani (both slain in Irpin), Bakhva Chikobava (killed in Mariupol), and Davit Gobejishvili (also killed in Irpin) were also assassinated during Russia's violent invasion of Ukraine.

Many Redditors published Nike Shanava's death obituary on Reddit in different Reddit communities. The news went viral as soon as the post was posted.
Shanava, a 21-year-old Georgian who joined Ukrainian forces on March 16, was killed today in a battle near Izium. The family will release the funeral service news since they are unavailable at the time of writing.
Several banners were on display criticizing the Georgian government. Some asked for the prime minister to resign, and others apologized to the people of Ukraine for the government's conduct.
