Playboi Carti, a professional rapper, was born on September 13, 1996. Jordan began rapping as Sir Cartier in 2011 and quickly changed his name to Playboi Carti in 2013. Playboi began uploading songs to SoundCloud in 2011.
After meeting producer Ethereal in 2014, Playboi joined Awful Records. Playboi started working on his second album, Whole Lotta Red, in late 2018. Many of Playboi's songs were leaked onto the internet over the next two years, accumulating tens of millions of streams.
His 24-track album Whole Lotta Red debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 on December 25, 2020, becoming his first chart-topping release. Playboi's fashion sense is a key feature of his public image.
