Jessie Graff underwent right shoulder surgery two weeks after the end of American Ninja Warrior (season 11) in 2020. She went through that operation after eight days of a devasting knee injury sustained during the show.

Though Jessie Graff intended to miss that season owing to stem cell therapy for a shoulder and neck injury, she chose to compete regardless after competing in the Titan Games without incident during treatment.

Reportedly, Graff participated in the initial filming; however, it was cut short owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, giving her more time to relax and recuperate following her medical reasons.

Graff was the first-ever woman to reach the final of Stage 1 of the Las Vegas Finals course in 2016. She made history in 2017, becoming the first woman to finish in Las Vegas, although it was a part of the USA vs. The World tournament.

Jessie Graff is still healing from injuries; thus, she was out of American Ninja Warrior (season 13). She is noted for just breaking through barriers and pushing through suffering.

The required course for American Ninja Warrior resulted in even more catastrophic injuries that caused several surgeries and prolonged rehabilitation.

Graff understood that if she kept pushing as she had, she might permanently harm her body. "This is time, and I'm being smart and responsible so that I can heal fully and come back stronger than ever!" she said on Instagram about her decision to take a year off.
