Uvalde shooter Salvador Ramos father and mother were not apprehended following the incident. He was likely to be living with his grandmother, whom he killed before turning the school into a battleground.

According to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, the 18-year-old shooter got out of his car and went into the school with at least one gun, opening fire.

Salvador Ramos was a resident of the local community of Uvalde, Texas. At the same time, Abbott stated on Twitter, calling the shooting a "senseless crime."

"Cecilia and I mourn this tragic loss," the governor writes in the statement, "and we urge all Texans to come together to offer our steadfast support to all who are hurting."

According to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, President Joe Biden has been updated on the school shooting on Air Force One as he returns from a five-day trip to Asia.

The social media sites like Facebook and Twitter have filled up their space with condolences and prayers. 

During a news conference, Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed that the shooting suspect, Salvador Romas, is dead.

According to Abbott, Romas shot and murdered 14 pupils and a teacher. According to Abbott, two police officers were also shot, but their injuries are not life-threatening.
