Witness: Who Is Aimee Arrambide On Avow Texas?


Aimee Arrambide is an abortion rights campaigner and the program manager at Public Leadership Center. The reproductive rights policy specialist testified before the House Judiciary Committee.

Aimee Arrambide suggested that a man can become pregnant and terminate his child. Her comments came after a tense exchange between Bishop and another Democrat witness, Dr. Yashica Robinson, after asking her to define "woman."

Instead of repeating, Arrambide didn't react as she was excepted to, "I trust people to determine what to do with their own bodies, full stop." Over the matter, there was an audible pause in analyzing the detailed answer and the committee member's reaction.

At the House Hearing, Aimee, who studied law and activism, argued that men can also become pregnant and have abortions. She majored in reproductive, justice, health, and abortion after being significantly influenced by her dad, an abortion practitioner.

Aimee Arrambide's Statement Men Get Pregnant And Have Abortions

"Men can get pregnant and have an abortion," according to Aimee Arrambide's statement. Also, she reacted to Representative Mike Thomspon's inquiry about two children, one of whom is already born and the other who is yet to be born.

Bishop questioned," Do you think that men can become pregnant and have abortions?" Aimee responded, "Yes."

"Dr. Robinson. I noted that you used she/her pronouns in your written testimony, You're a doctor, so what is a woman?" Robinson, an OBGYN and board member with Physicians for Reproductive Health, was requested by Bishop.

Robinson remarked, "It's important that we educate people like you about we don what we do." further, he added," So, I use she and her pronouns as I understand that there are people who become pregnant that may not identify that way. And I believe it is discriminatory to call people in such a way as they desire not to be called"

Arrambide earned a degree in Philosophy from the University of Texas and a Juris Doctorate from the University of New York. She worked with Avow as an intern from 2006 to 2007 and has been the executive director since 2018.

Aimee Arrambide grew up in San Antonia, the daughter of an OB-GYN physician, where she witnessed the drama surrounding families who had abortions.
