Fact Check: Matt Lucas Illness Alopecia Areata-Resulting Hair Loss And Bald
Matt Lucas has already revealed that he is suffering from an illness or a condition called Alopecia Areata which results in hair loss and his bald head.
He was never allowed to forget for one moment that he was bald. He was watched by people in various activities like when he went swimming or to the cinema or went to the shop or simply walked down the street.
He then tried a number of different treatments, none of which were successful. He later discovered that his hair loss was the result of an overactive immune system.
Doctors explained that his body was always looking for something to fight against and that this was why his hair had been rejected.
Matt has learned to live with the disease because there is currently no remedy. It's an uncertain and difficult situation to cope with, and we like Matt's candor.
What Happened To Matt Lucas?
Matt Lucas of the Great British Bake Off has already spoken up about his battle with alopecia areata (hair loss).
His candor is undoubtedly a source of encouragement for others in similar situations, and Matt has even sought to express his support.
He most recently used Twitter to like a post published by a young admirer who bravely uploaded a photo of himself with no hair.
Doctors initially thought his ailment was caused by shock when he was "knocked down by a car" on a family vacation to Portugal, he recounted.
In 1980, he began to lose his hair, and his baldness became a source of embarrassment for him.
