Mark Francois Rayleigh And Wickford Arrested On Sexual Assault Allegations


 Mark Francois was arrested on charges of rape and abuse of a public position between 2002 and 2009.

He is a Conservative Member of Parliament from the United Kingdom.

According to recent reports in The Sun, the Metropolitan Police Service first learned about the claims in January 2020 and initiated a two-year investigation against him.

The Sun did not name the MP and stated that "the party will not suspend the nameless MP until the Central Specialist Crime Unit probe is completed."

Meanwhile, the government Whips Office released a statement that reads, "The Chief Whip has asked that the MP in question not attend the Parliamentary Estate while an investigation is being conducted. We won't say anything else until the investigation is over."

The MP's whip is awaiting the outcome of the Metropolitan Police investigation before deciding if he will be suspended.

Mark Francois Allegation Of Assault: Who Is The Victim?

Mark Francois was arrested on rape and abuse of public office charges, but the victim has yet to be identified.

Furthermore, the allegations were made public for the first time in January of 2020.

The news of Mark Francois' arrest has gone viral on Twitter, with hateful comments overflowing.

Met Police have detained him and are investigating him. The arrest comes just weeks after another batch of 'Pestminster' claims against sitting MPs shook Westminster.

Around 50 MPs are said to have been referred to Parliament's authorities for alleged sex misconduct.

Around 15 active cases are known to be being investigated by the Commons' Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme.
