Where Is John Shorthouse Tonight?

John Shorthouse is out on P*P of the Vancouver Canucks' telecast tonight following some Covid protocol. While Brendan Batchelor appeared as the play-by-play announced on Sportsnet.

On the other hand, Joey Kenward serves the SN650 radio play-by-play. Meanwhile, John Shorthouse's fans are missing his telecast on Sportsnet Pacific television.

On 24 March 1998, John Shorthouse made his NHL debut as a replacement play-by-play announcer against the New York Islanders. This match was notable because it marked the first time that popular ex-Canucks Trevor Linden and Gino Odjick appeared together.

The following year, Shorthouse was appointed as the regular radio play-by-play broadcaster after Robson's resignment, while Hughson went full-time into television.

From 1999-2000 to 2007/08, John Shorthouse served as a radio voice of the Canucks with color commentator, Tom Larscheid. he was typically considered as the more even-handed of the two in comparison to his ebullient colleague Larscheid.

John Shorthouse was named to Canucks Play-by-play position on Rogers Sportnet on 3 June 2008. Now, he calls all Canucks regional television games along with John Garrett.

Shorthouse has also gotten occasional network assignments on Sportsnet or Hockey Night in Canada since Rogers bought the national television rights to the NHL in Canada in 2014.
