He still owns nearly three percent of shares in Abercrombie & Fitch. The company itself has a valuation of $3.31 billion USD at present times.

Jeffries is highly recognized for reestablishing and developing the modern brand image of the company. He had served as the CEO until 2014.The brand which was launched in 1982 had standout as an outdoor sporting retailer for years. However, was immensely transformed by Jeffries. He is credited for popularizing the brand in the 1990s and 2000s.

In 1999, one of its nightclub-style stores had pulled in $1.04 billion for the company.

Jeffries Made Most Of His Career Earnings From Luxury Brands

Most of Mike Jeffries' wealth has come from investments in many luxury brands. It was in 1992, that he joined  Abercrombie & Fitch as its CEO.

Before that worked at the Abraham & Straus, a New York City department store. Ultimately, established Alcott & Andrews, a brand targeted at career women. The brand was initially successful, but due to overexpansion in 1989, it went bankrupt.

After that, Jeffries went to work for Paul Harris, a clothes retailer in the Midwest.

According to Esquire, Jeffries offered his Midtown Manhattan home for $19.5 million in 2016, then re-listed it for $16 million. In 2018, the property was ultimately sold for $12.9 million.

Mike Jeffries is still active in the Luxury business but has retired from the executive position. He still has three percent of shares in Abercrombie & Fitch.

He was first married to Susan Marie Isabel Hansen, daughter of Charles Henry Hansen. They share a son named Andrew Jeffries. After Hansen, he wedded Annabel Vartanian in September 2013. Their marriage lasted for only a year.

Since 2013 Jeffries was said to be living with his lover, Matthew Smith.  They reportedly reside with their three dogs in Ohio.
