Beatriz Haddad Maia was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to her parents Lais Scaff Haddad and Ayrton Elias Mais Filho. Beatriz comes from a tennis family of Lebanese descent.

Her mother, Lais Sacff Haddad, and her grandmother Arlette Scafg Haddad were successful tennis players of their time in Brazil. The young player was always inspired by her family to pursue a career in tennis.

The athlete peaked at No. 15 in the ITF junior rankings. She grabbed her first professional doubles victory at the $10k tournament in Mogi das Cruzes in September 2010, playing alongside Flávia Guimarães Bueno.

At 15, she received her first professional singles title at the $10k tournament in Goiania in 2011. 

Beatriz's best achievement as a junior was being doubles runner-up at the French Open in 2012 and 2013, playing alongside Montserrat Gonzalez and Ecuadorian Domenica Gonzalez, respectively.

Flávia Guimarães Bueno is coached by Rafael Paciaroni, a professional tennis coach. The coach is working full-time with Beatriz and supporting players.

Rafael has served as a coach in important high-performance tennis centers in Brazil and England. Additionally, spending periods of updating in some of the mains tennis centers globally.

He is the partner/owner at the UP Tennis Solutions company, founded in 2017. The company focuses on contributing to the development and promotion of the tennis sport.

Beatriz turned professional in 2014 and became Brazil's second-highest-ranked female tennis player in December 2014. She made her WTA Tour-level debut in Florianópolis as a wildcard at the 2013 Brasil Tennis Cup.
