Vicky White, an Alabama prison officer, allegedly had a "special relationship" with Casey White, the inmate she is suspected of assisting in his escape.

Casey White's fellow convicts reported the alleged relationship to authorities in Lauderdale County who were handling the case.

Despite this confirmation, facts concerning the officer's suspected relationship with the inmate have yet to be confirmed.

Casey White, a capital murder suspect, and Vicky White, an Alabama jail supervisor, were caught on camera escaping the Lauderdale County Jail in what appeared to be a well-planned escape.

Ms. White's police car was also discovered abandoned at a shopping mall.

Vicky White has been charged with permitting an escape, which is a felony offense.

Casey White is a capital murder suspect who was already serving a 75-year sentence for an unrelated conviction.

Casey White, shackled and handcuffed in an orange jumpsuit, was escorted into the back of Vicky White's patrol cruiser Friday morning, according to surveillance video released by the detention center Tuesday.

According to Singleton, the two then drove to a nearby shopping mall, abandoned the patrol car, and got into a gold/copper-colored 2007 Ford Edge SUV.

Vicky White purchased the automobile in Rogersville, about 25 miles east of Lauderdale County, and had it staged in the parking lot the night before they vanished, according to Singleton.
