Auston Matthews, Toronto Maple Leafs forward is not playing tonight against the New York Islanders, according to head coach Sheldon Keefe.
He sustained a minor injury in Saturday's 5-4 overtime victory over the Ottawa Senators. Matthews is two goals away from his first career 60-goal season with seven games left in the season.

Keefe also stated that John Tavares will be promoted to the top line to replace Matthews.
"Auston has a slight injury," Keefe stated during his pre-game conference. "At this point, it will be on a day-by-day basis. It's genuinely out of a sense of foreboding. Give him the day off and re-evaluate him from there."
According to TSN, Matthews is now in the midst of a great season in which he has 58 goals and 102 points in 70 games.
The Maple Leafs are now second in the Atlantic Division, four points ahead of the third-place Tampa Bay Lightning and ten points back of the first-place Florida Panthers.
Fans are apprehensive about whether the team will be able to overcome the Islanders without Auston Matthews. The Leafs will be headed by William Nylander and Mitch Marner tonight.
The Islanders were eliminated from playoff contention after setting franchise records for victories and points in the regular season.
