In the wake of the backlash, the owners of Bliss nightclub have issued an apology, claiming they were ignorant of the plans to put Goonew's corpse on stage.

Rapper GooNews's death video and show of his body at DC Nightclub went viral on Reddit and other social platforms.

Videos posted to social media show the late rapper's allegedly embalmed body standing on stage while a packed club danced and rapped to his music.

Close family and friends also danced on stage near his body, which was clothed in an Amiri pullover, pants, trainers, and a crown on his head and was blocked off by a velvet rope.

Multi-colored strobe lights flitted throughout the room, and fireworks were set off near the claimed corpse as if it were a typical club night.

Fans of Rapper GooNews were devasted by the show of his dead body at the DC Nightclub funeral of the rapper. 

Tickets were on sale through Eventbrite, although there is no indication of plans to expose his body at the club.

'A nearby funeral home contacted the nightclub about renting out their location for Goonew's farewell celebration. The nightclub was completely unaware of what was about to happen.
