Finneas O'Connell is the son of actress and playwright Maggie Baird and actor Patrick O'Connell, both musicians, and was born in Los Angeles.

Maggie is an actor, scriptwriter, and former theatrical company teacher from the United States. Maggie grew up performing music in Colorado and went on to study theater and dance at the University of Utah before relocating to New York City and performing on Broadway.

Maggie made her screen debut in the 1989 film An Innocent Man and her television debut in the 1981 serial opera Another World.

After coming to Los Angeles in 1991, Maggie continued to perform in television and cinema and became a member and instructor at The Groundlings, an improvised theatrical ensemble and school.

Maggie Baird was born in 1959, on March 29, and she is currently 63 years old. Patrick O'Connell, born on July 7, 1957, will turn 65 in 2022.

Maggie gave birth to a daughter, Billie Eilish, in December 2001 in Highland Park, Los Angeles, where they are still living as of January 2021. Maggie and her husband decided to educate their children at home.

Finneas O'Connell is of Irish and Scottish descent. He has stated that his experience portraying different characters has aided him in composing songs for his sister Billie Eilish since he writes from her point of view and vocal range.

O'Connell had written and produced "Ocean Eyes" for his band, but when Eilish's dance teacher requested them to make a song for choreography, he offered it to her.

They shared the music on SoundCloud, where it received positive feedback from various blogs. In November 2015, O'Connell's manager contacted him to discuss Eilish's potential.

He then supported Eilish in signing with Platoon, an A&R business. O'Connell co-wrote and produced Eilish's debut EP, Don't Smile at Me (2017), which peaked at number 14 on the US Billboard 200.
